Sailing along Svalbard

The arctic.

For a long time, this wild, mysterious, dangerous yet endangered region was on my bucket list. It took until this summer, that I finally had the chance to visit it.

Busker Festival 2018

Last weekend, the annual Busker Festival in Ludwigsburg took place in the beautiful "Baroque in Bloom" park. It's a big three-day festival with musicians from all over the world.

'Soul Effect' in Concert

A couple of days ago, a friend asked me to join him for a concert of a band called “Soul Effect“, and also asked me to take some photos to support the band.

Scottish Abstracts – Part 1 & 2

During my recent trip to Scotland I did a number of more abstract photos. I decided to show them in dedicated posts, as they are quite different from the rest of the photos taken on that trip. The first one features photos from little beach huts, while the second contains some rust‑and‑decay shots.

Autumn in Scotland

Scotland has been on my list for quite some time. In autumn 2017 I took the chance for a first three-weeks trip to this amazing country. Starting in Edinburgh, I then headed to Glencoe area. After a few more days in Inverness, I stayed the last week on the Isle of Skye.

Busker Festival 2017

Once every summer there is the Busker Festival in Ludwigsburg. Street musicians from all over the world gather for a three day event in the beautiful park of the “Baroque in Bloom” park. It’s always fun enjoying the music, the mood, the spirit of these bands.

Using Tangent Element with Capture ONE

When Capture ONE Pro 10 came out end of last year, one new feature caught my eye: The support of the Tangent Element retouching panels. I have been looking for panels like this for quite some time, but usually they all lack support for Capture ONE. And when I read the announcement, it was just a question of time. So, a couple of weeks ago, I bought the panels.

Impressions on Fuji GFX and Phase ONE

I recently had the chance to test the new Fuji GFX 50S. German FineArtPrinter magazine organised a workshop for testing and comparing the Fuji GXF 50S and the Hasselblad X1D. Being addicted to Fuji X series for quite some time now, I was mainly interested in the GFX. And since I used Phase ONE during an Ireland trip last year, it’s time to check out what is the better medium format camera, Fuji GFX or Phase ONE?

Approaching Taiwan

Recently I was invited to a wedding in Taiwan and used this as an excuse for a three-weeks trip. It was my first trip to Taiwan.

Puffins on Skellig Michael

One of the highlights of my latest trip to Ireland was a visit to Skellig Michael, a small island about 12 km off the coast.

Phototrip to Ireland

Mid of July I returned to Ireland. This time together with a couple of other photographers and the help of Phase ONE. One week full of shooting, chatting and laughing.

Schloss Ludwigsburg at night

I used the warm weather of the last days for some blue-hour shots at the Residenzschloss Ludwigsburg.

Autumn is coming

With the weather changing the last few days, it is obvious now: Summer is going to leave, and autumn is knocking on the door.

Industrial Heritage

Here are a few black and white images of some of the spots we visited during our photo-tour through the Ruhr Region last month.

In the Ruhr Region

Last week I spent a couple of days in Duisburg to meet a few friends from all over the country. Beeing all photographers, we were shooting all the time and had great fun.

Färöer Islands in Spring

Recently I did a trip to the Färöer Islands together with a party of other photographers. Contrary to all my expectations we were extremely lucky with the weather.

Black and White Portrait Shooting

Yesterday I had the chance to attend a photo workshop of Arve Dinda about black and white portrait photography.

Flowers in Studio

Recently I did a few studio shots of some flowers. The first few are all taken using just natural light of a cloudy day. The last two are taken with full equipment of remote controlled flash lights, softboxes and reflectors.

Glimpse on Africa

Africa was the last continent missing on my list. But a couple of days ago, I had the chance to travel to Maputo, capital of Mozambique. There was only a little time to look around and take some photos.

Foggy Morning

It was a cold and foggy morning today, when I had a walk through the park nearby. Only in the end the sun came through and started to push the fog away.

Shorttrip to Hamburg

Last week I spent a couple of days in Hamburg to meet a few friends from all over the country. Beeing all photographers, we were shooting all the time and had great fun.

Busker Festival at Ludwigsburg

The guys with the hat are back. I suppose, this was the hottest busker festival ever in Ludwigsburg.
